Planet Driven Brands Podcast Andrew Ely. Andrew has over 5 years experience with the sales and marketing of plant-based brands into UK and EU retail. He spent most of that time bringing Green & Gold to the UK, establishing and growing it – it also explains his passion for oats! Andrew shares his wisdom with us, enlightening us on his journey to plant-based, through family Veganuary, and to how he now sees the market. Fascinating is how he views the move from vegan ‘ideology’ to what we now term the ‘post-vegan’ world and furthermore, how consumers expect more from the look of plant-based food vs meat. He describes how brands can best position themselves for success in this booming market, with honourable mentions going to Oumph and Wicked kitchen. Andrew is a huge advocate for food and flavour and calls out the industry to keep striving to be better. He calls for manufacturers and retailers to work together, in order to make life easy for consumers who want to engage in this space. As he says:

“Over 5 years probably the space for meat replacements has tripled. So I think we have to be pretty happy with progress!”
